The role

As a Coordinating Doctor you will provide on the phone medical assistance to our clients when they are traveling or living abroad, or coordinate medical evacuations and transportation of patients, as such no two days will be the same as you provide first class medical assistance to a variety of industry sectors.

You will be responsible for monitoring the medical aspects of evacuations and repatriations, assisting our remote area clinics working with numerous and varied clients, undertaking professional telephone based reviews for our patients, as well as monitoring the appropriateness of the medical treatment provided all while being supported by your team of fellow medical, logistical, and security professionals.

Requirements

Essential to performing in this role is proven experience working within emergency and primary healthcare settings, full AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner as well as a passion for assisting others and strong customer service standards.

Communication is the key as you will be working closely with global counterparts and locally based professionals, as well as producing medical recommendations to our medically and non-medically trained clients and stakeholders.  The ability to speak a secondary language is also desirable.

12 month contract

The Coordinating Doctor position will be offered as a 12 month contract to the successful candidate. International SOS is currently recruiting Offshore Intensive Care Paramedics that have experience working offshore Australia. This is an unique opportunity partnering with our client in an offshore setting.

  • FIFO position offered for candidates living in Australia and New Zealand
  • Contract length 10 months; working 4 weeks on/4 weeks off rotations
  • First ICP to start on the 25th May 2017

You will be the focal point for medical consultation and treatment whilst on duty and provide primary health care, initial emergency response and other related services to all client employees and subcontractors on site.

Skills and Experience required:   

  • Must have work rights in Australia and live in Australia or New Zealand
  • Have an appropriate formal clinical qualification from an accredited training organisation, medical institute or university recognized in Australia (Bachelor’s Degree in Paramedic Science or equivalent);
  • And certified to Intensive Care / MICA level;
  • Tertiary qualifications in Clinical Practice (Paramedic) or equivalent (desirable);
  • Ability and competence to perform the main ALS activities to stabilize a patient; including endotracheal intubation, the use of manual defibrillators, sedation, insertion and management of intravenous lines, use of common emergency medicine drugs, including controlled S8 medications;
  • Patient assessment, examination and reporting;
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with recent practice;
  • Experience practicing in remote or offshore locations and be familiar with aeromedical evacuations;
  • Rotary wing experience;
  • Experience in training and development;

Commercial Bid Manager

They currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Bid Manager to join their team on a contract basis. The purpose of this position is to support the Australasia sales team on all new business and account renewals undertaken through a formal bid or tender process in order to maximize the success rate of these opportunities. The Commercial Bid Manager will be the tender champion for the region and will be the first point of call for all parts of the business for advice on bids and tenders.

The Commercial Bid Manager leads the bid function across the region and is responsible for providing leadership, guidance and insight to the sales team for tenders and bids.

Key responsibilities include:

•    End to end management of major tender opportunities including leading tender documentation and response development, coordination of input from subject matter experts, writing, editing and proofreading submissions, production and submission of quality proposals, and assisting with bid clarification and negotiation activity.
•    Commercial management of a major government contract including managing all contract variations through Contract Change Proposals and Additional Services Requests. This component of the role requires strong customer relationship management capabilities
•    Providing the sales team with bid support including process advice, bid response format and structure, compliance, locating key source information from previous bids, as well as a key content review function.
•    Working with sales team members on bid preparation activities in advance of a tender release, including strategy development, capture management and pursuit development
•    Providing a coaching function to the Sales team through regular training sessions, updates and formal and informal advice
•    Ensuring tender debriefs are undertaken for all opportunities in order to source insight into areas for improvement, as well as ensuring any lessons learn are embedded into future processes
•    Maintenance of tender tools such as the Tender Library and Proposal Tracker

Required skills and knowledge:

  • Superior written skills in developing proposals and responding to tenders, with at least 5 years prior experience in a bid management/tender related role
  • Experience and capability in a customer facing role, particularly with government clients
  • Broad industry experience including government (including demonstrated success in completing government tenders and understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Guidelines), energy, mining, infrastructure and corporate
  • Experience managing conflicting needs and multiple stakeholders
  • Tender documentation, writing skills, financial analysis/Microsoft Excel and modelling skills
  • Strong project management skills and sound documentation capabilities with the ability to prepare charts, diagrams, project plans etc
  • Ideally degree qualified in marketing, business or commerce.

Seeking expressions of interest from experienced Medical Practitioners for a number of potential projects to commence immediately until  late 2017. You will be working on rigs/vessels/ASV’s offshore Western Australia.

Provide acute health care (ALS) to clients in an offshore setting to the standards set out by International SOS Policies and Procedures. Participate in the organization and support of medical evacuations in liaison with the relevant International SOS Assistance Center as indicated in current Medical Evacuation Response Plan (MERP);

  • Perform health monitoring as agreed with client;
  • Liaise with relevant parties involved in the injury management of employees;
  • Demonstrate commitment to Client QHSE policies through leadership and guidance;

Candidate requirements:

  • Must have work rights in Australia and live in Australia or New Zealand;
  • Primary Qualification in Medicine;
  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner;
  • Five (5) years’ work experience in Emergency Medicine;
  • Three (3) years’ work experience in a Remote Location;

  • Current Certification (i.e. less than three (3) years) in:
    • Advanced Life Support 2
