Australian Paramedical College (APC) is delighted to announce ex-serving Australian Defence Force (ADF) veterans have the exclusive opportunity to apply for a scholarship to study paramedicine.
APC provides entry pathways to veterans for nationally recognised training courses in pre-hospital emergency healthcare. This scholarship offers a deserving recipient a chance to explore a new career post-service and be supported by the college throughout the significant transition from the beginning of their journey.
We look forward to giving the right person the opportunity to seek employment in the healthcare industry by providing a quality education and helping them obtain real hands-on experience while they study to help them get there. Supported by our Education Partner, Soldier On, we are excited to announce applications are officially open for the Ex-serving ADF Veterans Scholarship.
Starting today and throughout the month of November, 2023, APC will be accepting applications for the scholarship which provides funding towards education and training in prehospital healthcare for an eligible ex-serving veteran.
Careers in the ADF provide personnel with a diverse range of expertise and knowledge. The ex-serving scholarship program has been created to develop and extend these skills with the goal of assisting veterans to secure further education and employment post-service. We are honoured to be able to offer a deserving recipient this opportunity with the intention of helping them transition into a new career and support their ongoing professional development long-term.
Dr Simon Sawyer, Director of Education at APC says the scholarship is a fantastic opportunity for veterans looking to start a career in prehospital healthcare.
“We are proud to offer entry pathways to ex-serving ADF veterans and help qualify them so they can successfully transition into a new career post-service.”
“This scholarship will enable a deserving individual to study a nationally recognised course, combining online study and hands-on experience to become a qualified healthcare professional, complementing their skills from the military,” he shared.
The scholarship is open to ex-serving ADF veterans in Australia.
APC encourages anyone who meets the eligibility criteria and is looking to build their career in the emergency healthcare industry to apply. There are many career pathways that can be explored as an APC graduate, depending on the individual’s area of interest and skillset.
Not only are there countless transferrable skills between ADF personnel and that of a paramedic, much of what these professions have in common in their desire to help people and in turn gain a sense of meaning from the work they do.
