Taking Australian Paramedical College (APC) students to (quite literally) new heights, we’re thrilled to announce our latest Industry Partnership with AirMed & GroundMed. This partnership offers APC students and graduates valuable Clinical Placement experiences and potential job opportunities through their aeromedical and ground transport services.
APC has partnered with AirMed & GroundMed through a “Clinical Placement and Employment Industry Partnership”. Clinical Placement will be scheduled using a rostering system, offering up to 40 hours within 7 days. This aids placement to be conducted at an accelerated rate, but also opens this partnership to interstate students, being able to book their flights and accommodation around their roster. Students will conduct their hours out of Sydney.
Alongside Clinical Placement, AirMed & GroundMed employ not only doctors and nurses but also HLT41120 – Certificate IV in Health Care and HLT31120 – Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport qualified individuals. Constantly recruiting, GroundMed Operations Manager, Steve Jacobs advised APC in his trip to our Burleigh Heads Office that he welcomes APC graduates to get in touch with him directly if they are looking to progress their careers within the patient transport sector.
Through this partnership, AirMed & GroundMed have the advantage of a more streamlined onboarding process for employees whilst also gaining exclusive Industry Partner discounts to any of APC’s HLT51020 – Diploma of Emergency Health Care, HLT41120 – Certificate IV in Health Care and HLT31120 – Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport courses.
On Clinical Placement, AirMed & GroundMed clinical supervisors will directly interact with APC students, understanding their clinical skillset and interpersonal skills too. Reporting back to Steve, employment can be offered to graduates. This further benefits students looking for employment within the healthcare sector upon the completion of study, but also keeps their clinical skillsets current should they wish to process their education to university through APC’s Diploma pathway.
Both AirMed and GroundMed are Australia’s leading commercial providers of home-to-facility and facility-to-facility transfer. In operation since 1995, AirMed employs 15 pilots operating 12 aircraft and GroundMed have over 40 drivers commanding 30+ vehicles. They operate in unison and 24/7 to ensure they can cater towards all medical requirements and disabilities of all ages. Both AirMed and GroundMed have been proudly serving NSW HealthShare for over 25 years.
If you’re looking for a sign to enrol at APC, consider this as it. We’re proud to partner with organisations dedicated to students’ success, allowing APC to continue training the next generation of healthcare professionals. APC students gaining experience within ground and aeromedical support can take their careers to the next level and beyond.
