Become a Volunteer Paramedic

Volunteer ParamedicToday is International Volunteer Day, so we wanted to take the time today to thank all Volunteers, in particular Paramedic/Medics, for their ongoing commitment and dedication to ensuring our communities are safe. Whilst we believe they deserve to be recognised every day, today we are encouraging all of our students, staff and followers to give thanks to these amazing men and women.

Established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1985, International Volunteer Day provides volunteer organisations and individual volunteers with the opportunity to raise public awareness of their contributions at local, national and international levels. With over six million Australians already volunteering their time, helping make Australia the greatest place on earth, we believe this is the perfect time to encourage more people to join in!

In the paramedical industry, there are many volunteer opportunities available for budding and current paramedics and people who just wish to lend a helping hand.

Why become a volunteer paramedic?

The great thing about becoming a volunteer within an emergency service or volunteer organisation is that there is a role for everyone – you can be young or young at heart, super-fit, of average health or have a disability. If you want to help out in a crisis the best thing you can do is to get involved with one of these organisations. You will learn new skills, get hands-on experience, make new friends, become resilient and increase your self confidence. But above all it is rewarding. The personal satisfaction you will gain as a volunteer is immeasurable.
