Australian Paramedical College (APC) is proud to share the news of our newest Industry Partnership with Emergency Medical Response. This partnership expects to provide APC students with quality clinical placements and employment pathways for our graduates across Victoria. Both students and graduates can also gain discounts on all courses booked with Emergency Medical Response

Get-to-know Emergency Medical Response

Emergency Medical Response was founded in 2010 by Tom Aczel, a Registered Paramedic and first aid accredited Trainer, in response to a medical emergency in his hometown of Bealiba, Victoria. When he noticed it took over 30 minutes for emergency services to arrive, Tom realised he could do more for his local community and surrounding areas, leading him to start Emergency Medical Response.

Licensed by Victoria’s Department of Health, Emergency Medical Response now maintains a fleet of two ambulances and four emergency response vehicles. The teams, consisting of Registered Paramedics, Nurses, Emergency First Responders, and Event and Sports Medics, ensure high-quality medical support, giving APC confidence in the level of support they offer our HLT51020 – Diploma of Emergency Health Care and HLT41120 – Certificate IV in Health Care students.

On top of their event first aid and medical response services, Emergency Medical Response additionally provides first aid training, including wilderness first aid and annual refresher courses, perfect for APC students and graduates who wish to upskill even further once they have completed their respective course at the college for a discounted rate.

Placement, employment and educational discount partnership offerings

For APC students residing in the Bendigo and Laverton North surrounding areas in Victoria, this is the perfect option to gain clinical placement and progress their careers upon graduation with the employment opportunity with Emergency Medical Response. For our HLT51020 – Diploma of Emergency Health Care and HLT41120 – Certificate IV in Health Care students, each could expect to complete their placement at an array of events, building on their skills, experience and confidence in field. These include, but are not limited to, camps, carnivals, concerts and music festivals, motorsport, equestrian events, and even movie/TV productions.

Speaking to Tom, he shared with APC, “We are always seeking enthusiastic and dedicated students to join our Level 3 Responder teams in Melbourne with a view of being offered ongoing casual employment after successful completion of their student placement hours and APC course. APC students have done placement hours with us going back to 2016, but now that we are located in Laverton North in Melbourne, there are so many more opportunities for students to start their careers as Event Medics in emergency prehospital care.

Emergency Medical Response additionally offers 30+ accredited and non-accredited training courses for students and graduates to pursue at a discounted rate of 10%. To take advantage of this discount, contact APC’s placement team via [email protected] for the exclusive code.
