APC Partners with Fire & Safety Australia

We are proud to announce our new partnership with Fire & Safety Australia (FSA), a Registered Training Organisation (RTO:22250) nationally recognised as a specialist in providing on-site medical care and response personnel as well as emergency response and safety training.

As a leading provider of emergency response services and employer of emergency response trainers across the country, we are excited to collaborate with FSA to bring many benefits to both Australian Paramedical College (APC) and FSA students and graduates, alongside commercial clients.

Steve McLeod, CEO of Fire & Safety Australia, shared “FSA is excited to partner with APC and work together on being industry leaders in the provision of medical and emergency response training.

We will provide APC alumni and current students discounts in our Cert III Mines Emergency Response and Rescue training programs and access to industry leading training facilities at North Lake in Perth. FSA trains approximately 40,000 personnel across Australia each year and provide more than 10,000 medical and emergency services shifts across Australia each year, with a national team of approximately 150 team members across Australia.”

FSA will facilitate opportunities for APC students to complete their clinical hours in 2023 and provide employment pathways for APC graduates. Currently, FSA employs 60 staff in paramedic, MESO, and ESO roles and aims to grow to 100 in 2023.

Dr Simon Sawyer, Director of Education at Australia Paramedical College, says he is very pleased about the partnership as well.

This partnership is a huge opportunity for APC students who aspire to work in the mining sectors. FSA provide high-quality training for working in high risk environments, and APC students can really benefit from FSA’s experience and industry contacts.

“We are looking forward to building our relationship with FSA and to helping our APC students and alumni to improve their chances of employment in the mining sectors”, Dr Sawyer commented.

How will the partnership benefit APC and FSA students and graduates?

The new partnership will provide APC access to FSA’s state-of-the-art training facilities located in North Lake, Western Australia. The FSA facility is equipped with six classrooms, practical areas, ample parking, and over 6,000 square meters of space, making it a perfect location for emergency response and safety training for both FSA and APC students.
