We chose some difficult medical words and put our clever Australian Paramedical College (APC) students to the test.
Check out this video and join in on the fun!
Medical terminology is the vocabulary that medical professionals use to describe the body, what it does, and the treatments they prescribe.
Why not try and pronounce them yourself (before watching the video!):
Medical Terminology is based on Latin or Greek words, which means learning it is like learning a whole new language – but as you can see from the video, it can be lots of fun to learn!
You may have noticed our students try to break down the words to figure out the meaning, because sometimes knowing part of the word helps to figure out the meaning of the entire word.
APC students learn how to interpret and apply medical terminology in this unit: BSBMED301 – Interpret and Apply Medical Terminology Appropriately – Australian Paramedical College (apcollege.edu.au)
Study pre-hospital emergency health care qualifications online at APC with the aid of clinical workshops as well as online and phone support from trainers and educators. Gain support from our dedicated Student Success Team too who are always ready to help and assist.
Even though our paramedical courses are largely completed by students online, APC has created a vibrant and passionate community which encourages our students to encourage and support one another throughout the entire learning experience.
If you want to kickstart a career in pre-hospital healthcare, choose from one of APC’s qualifications to help you get started:
