Why study the Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport?
The HLT31120 – Certificate III in Non-Emergency Client Transport is a health care qualification if you are interested in becoming an Ambulance Transport Officer (ATO), Patient Transport Officer (PTO) or Patient Transfer Attendant (PTA).
The Certificate III in Non-Emergency Client Transport is designed to provide students with basic training required to effectively transport and care for patients in non-urgent situations. In most cases, the transport of the patient is pre-arranged or booked ahead of time. An example of this kind of transport is hospital-to-hospital transfer or transportation of an aged care resident to the hospital for a scheduled procedure.
These patients, while not in emergency medical situations, still require basic clinical monitoring and supervised care whilst being transported.
What is the difference between a Certificate III (Patient Transport) and Certificate IV in Health Care?
Non-emergency patient transport services are in high demand. These services are usually pre-arranged and are provided for those who require clinical monitoring or assistance but do not need an emergency paramedic to respond.
The Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport is a nationally recognised qualification, which means no matter where you live in Australia, the training outcomes can be used to secure employment. These are typically the units of competency to be studied in the course.
