About Your Role – 2 x jobs available

Reporting to the Facility Manager, the role, shared between 2 full timers, will commence during the construction phase of the Sandy Ridge Project, a dual kaolin mine and waste storage facility, to be constructed 140km north-west of Kalgoorlie during 2019. Once construction is completed, the role remains and expands to include site security and front-gate services.

The Sandy Ridge Facility will be a residential site, with FIFO from Jandakot or DIDO from regional towns. Operations are day-shift only, on an 8:6 roster. The project has an operational life of at least 25 years and will operate with a team of between 12 and 20 Tellus staff (per swing) and between 11 and 26 contractor staff depending upon activities at the time.

The position offered presents a unique opportunity to use your skills in developing and implementing the operational phase of a new and innovative mining and hazardous waste facility, the first of its kind in Australia. You will be starting as one of the very first operations staff group, and your input to the development and implementation of safety, medical, emergency response and security practices will be highly valued by Tellus. Leadership skills are essential as you will be a key member of the Emergency Response Team, equipped to handle any type of emergency on a remote site.

If you want to be involved right at the beginning of the development of a new site and innovative business which avoids the cyclic nature of mineral prices, this is the job for you. You will be part of the Operations Department, working closely with both industry regulators and Tellus’ internal Tech Services and HSECQ teams, where service, people, sustainability and safety are all key values.
