We understand. It is a big decision and often a hard one especially after you speak with different University’s.

Only YOU can make the right decision for YOU, so we encourage you to keep researching and finding the perfect course. The more knowledge you have prior to making your decision the better.

There are 3 types of students that we get enrol with us

1. Applied with University and didn’t get accepted. They come to us, do a certificate / diploma, then re-apply next year with a better chance of being accepted with prior knowledge up their sleeve.
2. Cannot afford to leave work / children to attend University. Need the flexibility of being able to study from home in a self-pace environment.
3. Have no interest in working with State Ambulance Services. Our qualifications allow you to work within the Private Sector straight away.

To work with State Ambulance Services,  as they have now transitioned from vocational education and training to university degree, they only accept applications for the position of Graduate Paramedic from those who possess a Bachelor degree-level qualification in the field of paramedic health science.

Basically – State Ambulance Services use to employ those who held a Diploma in Paramedical Science and had 3 years work experience within the Private sector. Late 2012 they raised the education level to a Bachelor Degree. Given that we are a RTO (Registered Training Organisation), we cannot offer the Bachelor Degree. This is something you will need to gain through University.

What does APC offer

The courses we can offer are nationally accredited, which mean they are recognised all over Australia.

HLT41115 – Certificate IV in Health Care

HLT 51015 – Diploma of Paramedic Science

Following completion, many of our students have successfully articulated into university to study paramedical science. This pathway enables them to gain credit points towards their degree which will therefore save time and money on the degree. It will also allow you to work in the industry sooner.
