The Labor government kicked off January 2021 with some great news for Ambulance Victoria. They are giving regional and rural Victoria better access to emergency care with a $14.8 Million funding boost.
Secretary for Health Steve McGhie announced the boost, which means more Ambulances and more Paramedics on the road, especially for regional growth areas such as Bendigo.
“This funding will see even more paramedics employed across the state, as well as extra ambulance units and surge shifts, and better referral service capacity.” Said Steve McGhie.
As a result of the extra funding, 20 graduate paramedics have already started working in Victoria, with an additional 20 to start in February 2021, and another 37 in March.
This extra funding means extra job opportunities and better emergency and non-emergency care for all Victorians.
